SAGE FORMALIZES NAME CHANGES Featured

Nick Goode, SageSage has made official the name changes to its product line that have been previously applied to elements of the Sage Business Cloud. In this week's Sage Capital Markets Day presentation, Nick Goode, VP of product, made repeated references to products "formerly known as".

The FKAs are Sage One, Live and X3. These have become Sage Accounting, Financials and Enterprise Management as the company made a full court press on SBC during the event. Intacct appears to still be Intacct for the moment. I am reminded after all the enthusiasm about the cloud platform of a recent interview with David Cieslak, director of cloud services for reller RKL eSolutions, who said, "The business cloud is still largely a marketing presentation." Goode hit a theme that I explored with Nuno Godinho, VP for product delivery for the Sage's cloud portfolio. earlier this month, the used of cloud APIs to integrate with a wide range of applications and also the use of microservices to enable customers to purchase functionality at a more granular level. They will pay for things they need and use and not be hobbled by applications full of features they never use.
