QBO ADVANCED; INSTALLED BASE SELL Featured

Goodarzi Sasan new lgAbout 77 percent of sales of QuickBooks Online Advanced are going to Intuit customers. The other 30 percent are new to the company’s products, Intuit CEO Sasan Goodarzi said this week.

Goodarzi made his comments during this week’s webcast for earnings for the third quarter ended April 30. He said there are about 180,000 QBO customers in the mid-market range who would be suitable for the product which hit the market in August. “We haven’t aggressively pursed new customers,” Goodarzi said. He also said Intuit will essential “build out over time” the inventory capability for the desktop mid-market users as the company begins to more focus more aggressively on product-based businesses. QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, the mid-market desktop system which has been cited in the last 18 months as driving sales of desktop units, continued its double-digit growth. It was the second consecutive quarter that Intuit reported a double-digit increase in QBES subs. While the company does not break out QBES subs the 258,000 QB desktop units sold in the recently ended quarter were up 11.6 percent from 231,000 a year ago. That is probably where the QBES sales are and it’s likely those are a major factor in the increase. There were also 408,000 desktop subscribers at the end of the quarter; an increase of 8 percent from 374,000 at the end of last year’s corresponding period.
