SPEEDTAX NABS SAGE VET LAHEY

David LaheyDavid Lahey, who spent four years in management roles at Sage North America, has joined sales-and-use tax vendor SpeedTax as EVP of sales and marketing.  Lahey says that one of his roles will be to apply his experience with large implementations to similar size deals at SpeedTax while working with his new employer’s reseller channel.
Lahey left Sage in November after 19 months as VP of sales for the mid-market ERP with responsibility for the MAS and Accpac lines. He had joined that vendor with Sage's purchase of the former Accpac International in September 2002. And he had become part of Accpac after it purchased his Lahey Software, founded in 1984, and which marketed manufacturing software for the Accpac world. Another former Accpacer, Craig Downing, joined Microsoft Business Solutions in July where he is working in field, product and industry marketing, according to his Linkedin page. Downing was VP of demand generation and product marketing from November 2006 through June 2009.  He was product line manager for Sage’s Accpac division from February 2005 through  January 2007 and had been for the Accpac line from May 2000 through February 2005, as that product line ownership went from CA (then called Computer Associates), Accpac International and finally Sage.
