SAP 4Q REVS GROW 27 PERCENT

SAP has released preliminary results for its fourth quarter ended December 31.  Total revenue hit roughly about $5.4 billion. The percentage increase was based on the change in revenue as measured in euros. On the same basis, software revenue rose by about 34 percent to just under $2 billion. The operating margin rose to 39 percent for the most recently ended quarter, up from 35.5 percent a year earlier. Last year’s final quarter reflected the impact of restructuring expenses, which amounted to about .3 percent points.
The preliminary results offer few details beyond the revenue and operating profit numbers for the quarter and for fiscal 2010. SAP said it would have detail results and discussion available on January 26. Like SAP, most companies have a calendar year fiscal year and results aren't coming in any numbers until early February. The big exception is Microsoft, which just ended its second quarter and will be reporting on January 27.
