SAGE AMERICAS H2 BIZ PICKS UP

Sage logoRevenue growth for the Americas in the second half ended September 30 outpaced the first-half increase, Sage said as the company reported results for fiscal 2012. Americas revenue was about $411.7 million, a 4-percent rise over 2011 while EBIDTA hit roughly $139 million, a 5-percent increase.
The Americas showed a 3-percent increase in organic revenue in the second half, compared to a rise of 1 percent for the first half. The company was high on subscription revenue, which it said grew by 4 percent over 2011 in the Western Hemisphere. However, organic software and software-related services revenue was down by percent, accelerating from a 3-percent contraction the prior year. Presumably, the switch to subscriptions is taking a bit out of the second category. A significant organizational change was that the reporting of Americas results replaced Sage's traditional reporting for North American, now that is moving more heavily into Brazil. Total revenue was up by 2 percent as problems in Europe pulled the totals down with weakness in Spain and France helping to hold down revenue growth for that continent at 1 percent over 2011.
