SAP has merged organizations that market its lower-end products. The company is placing SAP Business One, Anywhere and Business ByDesign in one organization under Barry Padgett as president. Padgett was most recently chief product officer for Concur, having spent nearly 20 years at that organization. Another Concur veteran, CIO Steve deRham, is taking on an additional role as CIO for SAP's Business Networks & Applications group. Both report to Steve Singh the head of SAP's BNA operations.

Carla Alarcon, long-time marketing director at Open Systems, has taken a position to run marketing programs for SSI Consulting. Alarcon moved to the Vienna, Va.-based software reseller this month after spending 13 years with the Shakopee, Minn.-based publisher of Open Systems Accounting Software and Traverse. SSI is led by Bill Aiton, who has been president of the organization since January 2005.

Epicor Software has acquired Dot Net IT, a company-based Bracknell, the United Kingdom. Dot Net is an Epicor alliance and channel partner which is described as "specializing in Epicor ERP implementation services, support and development of add-on solutions." Terms were not announced. In particular, the deal was cited for adding cloud-based applications to the Epicor portfolio. Epicor's announcement also honed in on the acquired company's team of developers who produce the Data Management Tool used by used by Epicor customers and integrators to speed implementation projects.
