NETSUITE BUYING BRONTO SOFTWARE

Joe Colopy, Bronto SoftwareNetSuite plans to acquire privately held Bronto Software, a cloud-based commerce marketing company for about $200 million in cash and stock. NetSuite signed an agreement with Durham, N.C.-based Bronto in a deal expected to close during the June quarter. The companies said Bronto's marketing automation platform is used by more than 1,400 customers. Founded in 2002 by CEO Joe Colopy, Bronto employs more than 220 people and also has offices in London, England, and Sydney, Australia.

SAGE NAMES GLOBAL PRODUCT VP

Antoine Henry, SageEarlier this month, Sage named Antoine Henry as EVP of global product marketing. You may not have read it, even though it was posted on the corporate website, as the press release was published only in French. But the online translators I use—outside of producing the occasional odd phrase—seem to leave little doubt this is a global, not France-only job. I'd say I'm surprised the news was not translated but given how the French press office has handled X3 publicity, not really.

PIVOTAL CRM REDESIGNED

Matt Keenan, ApteanAptean has retooled its best-known CRM application with Pivotal 6.5. The company says the latest edition "features a completely redesigned sales automation user experience that enables secure, mobile access from any laptop, desktop or tablet." The new Pivotal gives mobile users the ability to create emails, appoints and tasks, while also having access to calendars. Mapping functions enable users to determine a customer's location and routes there.
