I.B.I.S. SELLS GP PRACTICE

Andy Vabulas, I.B.I.S.I.B.I.S., a Peachtree Corners, Ga.-based Dynamics reseller has sold its Dynamics GP practice to Socius. Based in Dublin, Ohio, Socius said the deal enables it to expand its GP market share to more of the United States and it now has more than 150 employees in that part of the business. The move by I.B.I.S. was not surprising given its emphasis on its AX practice and that was cited by the reseller's CEO Andy Vabulas in announcing the deal. "By divesting our Dynamics GP business, we are now laser focused on our Dynamics AX and CRM businesses and related intellectual property," Vabulas said in a prepared statement.

SAGE BACKTRACKS ON PAYROLL PRICING

 Connie Certusi, Sage A planned change to payroll pricing for Sage 100 and 300 that has angered many Sage VARs has been postponed.  And Sage is rethinking the plan that one reseller said could hike prices by five times in some cases. Sage said it is listening to those voices. "Based on valuable feedback we received from our partners, we have decided to re-assess our go-to-market approach and delay this approach until early 2016," was a prepared state from Connie Certusi, EVP for Sage North America, and Nancy Harris, managing director for Sage in Canada.

EXACT MACOLA SALES TO BE ALL VAR

Gayle Prokop, Exact MacolaExact Macola is moving away from a hybrid approach, utilizing direct sales and resellers, in favor of the channel. Gayle Prokop, director of alliances and channel development. says new Macola sales will be all channel. "Our goal is to have one hundred percent of our growth coming through our partners," she says. That includes distribution of leads by the software publisher. Her statement this week follows this the program's description earlier this month at the company's Edge conference. Exact is both recruiting new Macola VARs and putting together a more complete channel program—something it has not had for a while.
