MYOB has purchased Reckon's Accountant Group—both companies are based in Australia. The roughly $136 million deal brings three businesses to MYOB, Reckon APS, Reckon Elite and Reckon Docs, which are sold to accounting firms in Australia. However, the deal is interesting more because of its impact elsewhere.

One in five workers hate their workplace technology and a third of professionals dislike their business software applications. That is the finding of a survey by Netherlands-based Unit4, which received responses from 1,057 full-time U.S.-based professionals.

Sage X-3 is increasingly running into the Tier One products. And the software company is looking at larger firms for the product's channel. "We are increasingly seeing Sage X-3 go up against Oracle and SAP," Scott Ehman, Sage's VP of North America partner strategy and sales, said during a recent interview.
