DYNAMICS REVS UP 19 PERCENT

Dynamics logoMicrosoft's Dynamics operation closed out the year ended June 30 with a bang as revenue for the software business was 19 percent higher than the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010. And Dynamics revenue was up by 10 percent year-over-year, the company said today as it released its 2011 earnings report. Those numbers support the anecdotal evidence of some resellers who said that June was one of the best months ever.

EPICOR RESCHEDULES USER CONFAB

Epicor logoEpicor has postponed its Perspectives conference, originally scheduled to be held from November 9 through 12 at the Gaylord in Nashville, Tenn. It is now scheduled for May 6 through 9 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. From a choice of places I don't like, this is a pretty even swap. (After the first 20 visits, Vegas sort of loses its charm.)

Clients First LogoClients First Business Solutions last month took away Epicor Evangelist Award as the "the partner who has been the most enthusiastic about promoting Epicor and the Channel." BRANDS ON ICE

The teacher in my ice skating class last night was asking me what brand of ice skating blades and boots I wore. I said, “I don’t know and I don’t care.” I got a real discount a few years ago and got a discontinued style of boot and discontinued kind of blade that bore a retail price of $750 at a steal. A couple of years ago, I replaced the blades with a style that’s more suited for jumping and I might have to replace the boots. Read more...

A FAMILIAR INNER CIRCLE

Microsoft has announced it latest round of honorees at its Worldwide Partner Conference. Most of the VAR names in the 2011 Inner Circle are well known in the profession, and as usual, it’s a group drawn largely from the biggest revenue producers in the Microsoft Dynamics reseller pool.  InterDyn, which seems to rotate members in and out of the group, had InterDyn BMI and Socius receive the honor and both returned after an absence. Among the accounting world, McGladrey, which usually ranks hanks, and BDO Dunwoody were honored. Also on the list were ePartners, Hitachi Consulting, Tribridge, Tectura, SBS Group, First Tech Direct, Fullscope and Western Computer.

EPICOR REWARDS VARS, I THINK

Epicor continues to be peculiar when it comes to the channel. At its Momentum Partner Conference early in June it gave out reseller awards. At least, there’s one press release issued by E2b Teknologies that says it was given the 2011 Customer Satisfaction Award, include a nice quote from somebody at Epicor. Of course, Epicor has never publicly admitted having a channel conference that I can remember or said that it gives out partner awards. Read more...
