DIRECTIONS AIMS TO BE SMB SHOW

The new goal comes as Microsoft has clearly recognized that the Dynamics partners generally don't fit Inspire (formerly the Worldwide Partner Conference.

APTOS BUYING TXT RETAIL


AptosAptos, once Epicor Software's retail application arm, has reached an agreement to acquire TXT Retail. Based in Milan, Italy, TXT retail provides end-to-end applications for the apparel, luxury, specialty and general retail sectors. Terms were not disclosed.

SAGE TO BUY INTACCT FOR $850M

Robert Reid, IntacctThe Sage Group has agreed to buy cloud vendor Intacct for $850 million in cash. I suppose 9.6 times trailing 12-month revenue is a decent price. And this seems to be what Sage CEO Stephen Kelly was suggesting at the company's Summit conference in May when he said Sage would fill in the gap between X3 and Sage Live by acquisition.

CERTUSI LEAVES SAGE

Connie Certusi, SageConnie Certusi, one of the last executive holdovers from Sage’s earlier days, has left the company. In a Facebook post, Certusi announced that July 14 was her last day at Sage after 21.5 years.

INFOR ALLIES WITH ADP

Trish McFarlane,  Infor Infor has signed on to integrate ADP's services and processes with its Infor HCM in the United States. The payroll company appears to be on a campaign to offer products through HCM. In June, FinancialForce announced it is largely offloading HCM functions to ADP and Infor noted that alliance, along with ADP's integration with Oracle, Workday and SAP.

DYNAMICS, CLOUD REVS UP 7 PERCENT

Amy Hood, MicrosoftMicrosoft has reshaped its categories for revenue for the year ended June 30. As it reported results for fiscal 2017, the software said "Dynamics products and cloud services revenue" increase 7 percent, 9 percent in constant currency. That's a bit different than saying Dynamics revenue rose that much isn't it?

InspireWhatever the body count at Microsoft's recent Inspire conference, it was clear the event did not inspire a lot of Dynamics VARs. Inspire replaced the Worldwide Partner Conference, which kicked off in booze-soaked fashion in New Orleans in 2003.

INNER CIRCLE 2017: NOT SO BIG?

But the Inner Circle for 2017 seemed less concentrated in the largest VAR world than we have seen in sometime. Not that mom and pops are making the list—Crestwood Associates made the cut for the first time with $13.9 million in revenue and was the smallest.

FRESHBOOKS RECIVES $43M

Accounting software vendor FreshBooks has received $43 million in Series B Funding. The cloud company says it will use the funds to support North American growth and to development of its latest product, launched in September.
