Unit4 has named Henk van den Bogaart, as chief human resources officer. Van den Bogaart was mostly recently group HR director of the Vion Food Group, a job he began in October 2015.

SilverSun Technologies, the parent of Livingston, N.J.-based reseller SWK Technologies, has reported a sharp drop in net income on less than 1 percent drop in revenue for the second quarter ended June 30. The culprit was service revenue decline of 4.1 percent for the most recently ended period.

The Exact Group is spinning off its manufacturing software operations in the United States. Macola, JobBoss and Max will end up under the ownership of ECi Software Solutions of Fort Worth, Texas. Terms were not disclosed. Exact, based in the Netherlands, will continue to sell its Globe, Synergy and Exact Online software in this country.

Last week's newsletter noted my attempt to round up all of the award winners in six Dynamics SMB categories. The logical place to start seemed to be with Waggener Edstrom, Microsoft's long-time public relations agency. The WagEd response was Microsoft does not make awards in the SMB category.
