ANOTHER VP EXITS SAGE

The exodus at Sage is starting to look like a significant remake under Pascal Houillon, CEO of Sage North America, or a bailout by people who want out.  In the latest installment, the company announced that Julia Stegman, VP of sales for Accpac, MAS and SalesLogix is leaving the company on September 21 for "a career opportunity outside of Sage." MICROSOFT TO HOLD MASTER VAR WEBINAR

That's according to a posting by Kevin Machayya on the Microsoft Dynamics Partner Community Blog.  His explanation is that "Master VAR is a unique partnership model designed to strategically drive growth for resellers and Microsoft through effective intra-channel partnering. ACUMATICA GETS FUNDING

acumatica logoAcumatica, which provides cloud-based ERP software, has received funding in a round led by Visma, a portfolio company of an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. The amount of funding was not disclosed. This is a second round of funding. The first was led by Almaz Capital. Read more...

JERSEY SHORE REPORT

Continuing the trend on the boardwalk at the New Jersey Shore for the last two years, there are no dominant figures in the stuffed prize world. Large dreadlocked bananas were the most common offering with a decent showing of Smurfs. Here and there were some Pillow Pets, the usual Tweetie or two. MICROSOFT ROLLS OUT AX 2012

The event had the feeling of designating AX as the favorite child in the Dynamics line, even if no one said that.  In the webcast, the package was lauded as “Our biggest ERP release ever.” And as a sign of how important it is, CEO Steve Ballmer made the official announcement. EPICOR OFFERS MOBILE POS

epicor logoEpicor Software has introduced a mobile-enabled version of the Epicor Retail Point-of-Sale application. The software supports the iPad, iPod and Windows mobile devices. INTUIT, INFOR TEAM WITH SALESFORCE

Infor and Intuit both came out with announcements this week in which they established links with Salesforce.com. Infor said it has built three applications on Force.com, the Salesforce.com platform.  Intuit released Salesforce for QuickBooks. This seems to fall into the if-you-can’t-beat them category. In 2009, Intuit introduced Customer Manager, a CRM package that was designed for 20 or fewer employees. Read more...

INTUIT INVESTOR CUTTING HOLDINGS

David H. BatchelderRelational Investors, an investment group, plans to sharply cut its holdings in Intuit where it has been very quiet despite a noisy start two years ago. According to an SEC filing, the firm has told Intuit that it will sell up to 5,562,500 shares of stock. That is almost 50 percent of its holdings as reported to the SEC on June 21.
