Sage North America has introduced a program for accountants who specialize in the construction and real estate industry. Operating under the Sage Accountants Network, the program gives members access to construction accounting software and support. According to a survey, 43 percent of SAN members specialize in construction or have plans to do so.

Microsoft has demonstrated Dynamics Nav 7, next year’s version of the product, being accessed via a web browser. And the message is there are clouds on the ERP horizon. The demonstration was made at this week’s Directions, a Nav conference held in Orlando. Fla.

Acumatica is taking registration, to use the company’s words, for its Project Accounting module for Acumatica 3.0. Version 3.0 is in beta and the company is also demonstrating the new module’s capabilities. It will be released this year, according to a spokesperson.

Kaseya has introduced the ability for IT organizations to deploy, update, and manage common third-party software by policy to remote distributed computers. Kaseya Software Deployment and Update module enables service providers and IT departments to deploy and update programs such as Adobe Reader, Firefox, Flash, Java, Skype and internal software applications from the Kaseya administrative portal.

RedTail Systems of Westborough, Mass., has released an enhanced interface that ingrates with the recently released AccountMate 8.2. RedTail EDI, a managed EDI services, handles B2B ecommerce between suppliers using the AccountMate package and their trading partners. The interface, developed by Figtree Consulting, moves EDI purchase orders to AccountMate sales orders. After the item is shipped, RedTail EDI generates and transmits the EDI invoice to the trading partner.

Sage executives are holding a conference call next week to explain rebranding. That ought to be a well- attended event as I haven’t seen any evidence that a lot of the channel thinks changing product names to the Sage plus a number system used outside of this country. The attitude is more "just what we need, another name change."

Syspro has signed A-Soft Professionals, a software reseller with offices in Austin and Houston, Texas. A-Soft is a long-time Cyma dealer and also carries Sage's Accpac line and Acctivate's inventory, distribution and warehousing software. A-Soft was one of Cyma's more visible VARs. One of its partners, Sheryl Dodge, has supported Cyma since 1997, according to the reseller's website. She is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Certified Consultant for Accpac and Sage Pro.
