NETSUITE HACKS AT SAGE BASE

Zach NelsonNetSuite, never shy about trash talking, said that more than 500 companies have switched from Sage's business products to NetSuite.  The Internet-based company didn’t spell out a time frame (this year, since NetSuite started, since the last Ice Age?), but apparently the numbers claimed are worldwide as it mentions the U.S.-based MAS line and the English Line 50 and Line 500.
I won't get into the savings the NetSuite claims the switchers make. But it's interesting given the last issue's discussion about companies switching from one cloud provider to another and since NetSuite has the biggest base, most have to be NetSuite users. The Sage foray came after a more than usual-aggressive assault made by Dynamics GP by NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson in the third-quarter earnings conference call. He also attacked another favorite whipping boy, SAP's Business By Design. Sage North America, asked for comment, didn't directly address the NetSuite press release about switchers. However, Laurie Schultz, SVP and general manager for mid-market ERP solutions, says that Sage is No. 3 in the ERP market with twice the market share of Microsoft, five times that of Epicor and 10 times that of NetSuite. Schultz said that information comes from Gartner. She also said Sage is switching about five users a day from the competition.
