SAGE’S WAYWARD VARS

sagelogo80Maybe the word wayward isn’t right, but I thought VARs with straying eyes did not fit the headline space. However, the fact that since January two major Sage resellers have taken on non-Sage products is a sign of the company’s continuing slowness to reach the cloud. (As opposed to Microsoft, which says it’s in the cloud, but really is not on the Dynamics line, except for CRM).

Last week, it was Blytheco, the company's biggest VAR in the United States taking on SugarCRM. This week, it is Arxis Technology picking up Intacct. Of course, Arxis was part of the first wave of discontent when it signed on for QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions (which made most resellers who opted for that product even more discontented) and then SAP Business ByDesign (which has come to a roaring halt in visibility after a roaring start. Well, two or three roaring starts.) Come to think about it, resellers looking for options in accounting software is something like Republicans picking a presidential candidate. One minute it's Herman Cain, the next it's Gingrich, then Romney, the Santorum. However, we're guaranteed the GOP will get to a market with the final product by November. Sage is going to take a bit longer.
