SAP PICKS AI EXEC Featured

SAP has named Philipp Herzog to the newly created role chief artificial intelligence officer.

Herzog will oversee SAP’s AI business from product development and research through to customer implementation. His team includes Walter Sun, who continues to lead all product engineering efforts on business AI, as global head of AI. Sun moved to SAP in September 2023 after spending slightly more than 18 years in Microsoft. According to the SAP announcement, “Herzig’s team will collaborate with innovators across SAP to infuse artificial intelligence  into every part of the company’s portfolio” with the goal of accelerating the pace of AI development. Herzog has worked for the German software giant for 14 years 10 months. Philipp’s positions at SAP include serving as SVP, head of intelligent enterprise and cross architecture senior from August 2020 through March 2023. He then was SVP of head of cross product engineering and experience then until assuming his new position.
