NETSUITE EYES MORE CHANNEL PROGRAMS

NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson didn't sound too optimistic that reseller revenue will improve significantly as a percentage of his company's income. But during yesterday's earnings Webcast, he told analysts the company is looking at new channel programs for 2010. Part of that was couched as a tactic for avoiding the expense of ramping up hiring.

"Next year I think you’ll see  us double down there [VAR area] next year with some new ideas and program. So we won’t rely on hiring," he said. While VAR revenue has remained at 20 percent of the NetSuite total for some time, Nelson said that because of the company's growth that means reseller sales have risen significantly. He added that "one of these days" more resellers will turn away from traditional on-premise vendors to software publishers such as NetSuite. Nelson also sees the potential for development of a channel that resembles the traditional systems integrators to handle the company's OneWorld product.
