GILROY GETS SAP GLOBAL INDIRECT CHANNELS

Kevin Gilroy, SAPKevin Gilroy, who said early in the game that he did not care if moved up in the company, has taken over as the head of Global Indirect Channels for SAP.  Gilroy joined the company in January 2010 as the VP who led channel and business development functions for SAP's North American small and midsize business organization. In that position, he was the visible executive involved in building the reseller base for SAP's cloud offering, Business ByDesign.

The job change takes him out of the North American chain of command. He now reports to Eric Duffaut, president of global ecosystem and channels. Gilroy's job is, well the obvious, build revenue through indirect channels and built the channel and alternate channels. Before joining SAP, he was president of the Enterprise Computing Solutions division of Arrow Electronics, where his responsibilities included the launch of a small and midsize business division. In his North American position at SAP, Gilroy was vocal about his commitment to build the channel and gave ByD a push, although it has been quiet in recent months. Late in February 2011, he helped make a channel meeting a very slick operation as SAP hammered away the theme of its desire to build indirect sales. We haven't heard anything about a 2012 meeting yet. Gilroy admitted last year that the recruiting process got gummed up by SAP capacity issues and there's also not been much news in the area of new resellers either.
