Accounts payable software company AvidXchange has purchased Ariett Business Solutions. Based in Pembroke, Mass. Founded in 2005, Ariett markets cloud-based payment, procurement software, along with time and expense software and other applications.

Four Intuit executives saw compensation decline for the year ended July 31. Leading the downturn was CEO Brad Smith whose take fell to $16.4 million, down 12.8 percent from $18.8 million for fiscal 2016.

Columbus has made an offer to buy iStone, a firm based in Sweden with 600 employees that operates globally. It represents a substantial expansion for the Denmark-based Columbus which had 1,200 employees when the first half ended on June 30.
