Most software companies are seeing cloud revenue increase while license sales drop. But for its first quarter ended March 31, SAP grew both segments. Overall revenue reached about $5.76 billion for the most recently ended quarter, up 12 percent from a year earlier.

Abila has updated its cloud-based MIP Advance line. The nonprofit software company, recently purchased by Community Brands, has added features so users can manage bank reconciliation within Advance's web-based interface.

Blackbaud signaled plans for worldwide growth with the promotion this month of Patrick Hodges as SVP global sales. Hodges, who joined the company in 2001, was previously VP of sales and was named to the senior leadership team, reporting to CEO Mike Gianoni.
