In the latest part of the Star Trek franchise, “Star Trek, the Last Generation”, an absent-minded Spock causes havoc in the nursing home when he constantly uses the Vulcan mind meld on staff and residents. He also disabled most of the cafeteria staff through the Vulcan nerve pinch.

MYOB has become the latest software company to tout the addition of artificial intelligence to its product line. The product, MYOB Advisor, is in a pilot stage and is scheduled for release mid-year.

A new conference has been put on the Microsoft calendar. The company has announced the Business Applications Summit to be held July 22 to July 24 in Seattle, Wash. The summit will be held at the Washington state Convention Center.
