Patrick Falle, a founding investor in Avalara, has joined YayPay as chief revenue officer. YayPay, which makes accounts receivable management products, raised $5.3 million in capital in September.

The story was one of good, old-fashioned revenue growing faster than expenses for Blackbaud for the third quarter ended September 30. The result was net income rose to $12.5 million for the most recently ended period, an increase of 40.4 percent from $8.9 million a year earlier.

Intuit has agreed to buy Exactor, which makes cloud-based sales-and-use tax software. Exactor will be integrated into QuickBooks Online to serve retail customers. Terms were not disclosed.
