INTACCT SIGNS NIMS
Intacct has been eking out the names of new resellers. But with the announcement that Nims & Associates has picked up the Internet-based application, Intacct has enlisted one of the larger firms it has signed and one that has fairly broad technology consulting operations.
Sims, based in Petaluma, Calif., has four offices and 40 associates (their word). It sells Sage’s MAS 90/200/500 accounting lines and Sage CRM and Dynamics GP and CRM. It offers the Yardi property management system (a product name I haven’t heard in years), ShoreTel VoiP equipment, and also infrastructure and network services and customized software development. What Intacct really needs to drive this program is to attract one of the top VARs (whether by size or reputation) from either the Microsoft or Sage channels. It's done a better job attracting CPA firms in non-reselling roles. One of the good names in the list is JMT Consulting, an NFP specialist. And in fact, Intacct’s Web page lists only six firms as resellers. The feedback I’ve gotten steadily from prospects who haven’t taken the product on is that it’s good, just that there’s not enough features.
