ROTH RESIGNS FROM SWK TECHNOLOGIES Featured

Jeff Roth, SWK TechnologiesJeff Roth, CEO of SWK Technologies, has resigned his position with the Livingston, N.J.-based reseller. Roth has been with the organization since March 2002. His duties are being handled by Mark Meller, chairman of SWK's parent, publicly held SilverSun Technologies. Meller wished Roth well and said that all other senior leaders remain in place. He emphasized that he will serve as CEO. "This is not an interim position," Meller said. Roth is, as they say, pursuing other interests.

SWK was founded in March 1995 by Gary and Lynn Berman. Lynn left the company in 2010 while Gary remains as EVP of the company's MAPADOC EDI Services.  SilverSun purchased SWK in 2004 and for many years it was a many losing operations and many of us questioned its ability to survive. But its resolved problems with its capital structure and retired its debt and over the last few years has grown as it has expanded organic revenue and acquired a number of smaller resellers. In 2015, it purchased Accounting Technology Resources, The Macabe Associates and Oates & Co., all resellers, and Productive Tech, a managed service provider. SWK, which represents all of SilverSun's operations, had $28 million in an annual revenue and ranked as No. 21 on Bob Scott's Top 100 VARs for 2016. During Roth's tenure, the company moved from being a Sage-only VAR to handling Acumatica and NetSuite.
