I say expect more of this since under the combination of Epicor and Activant, the company's new CEO and CFO both from Activant, which meant one of the first people out the door was Epicor's CFO, Michael Pietrini. This was set in motion with a private equity group, Apax Partners, purchased both Epicor and Activant and melded them together. That gave Epicor CEO George Klaus the chance to retire and stay retired from day-to-day operations, although he remains as chairman. Somehow buried in the changeover, the fact that another Klaus had left the company got missed. That was Laurie Klaus, who had been with the company since 1991 and who became EVP of worldwide sales and services early in 2009. Along the way she married one George Klaus. Her Facebook page, which lists her as "Experienced ERP Executive" shows she left the company in May. Epicor's web page does not have a management biographical section and since it's no longer public, verifying these things takes more work.

MARKETING SVP LEAVES EPICOR
Expect more of this: James Norwood, who has held a variety of sales and marketing roles at Epicor, has left the company after 15 years. Norwood has taken the job as chief marketing officer of Kana Software. Norwood joined Epicor, then known as Platinum Software in 1996. He became VP of product marketing in April 2005 and the company's SVP of worldwide product marketing in January 2010.
