SAGE SUMMIT TOPS 4,000

Sage North America says that attendance for Summit, its concurrent user and partner conference, has moved past 4,000 attendees. The conference is being held July 10-15 at the Gaylord National, just downstream from the nation’s capital. The breakdown that was pushed out to Twitter showed 1,200 partners,1,850 customers, 500 exhibitors and 500 Sage employees. That beats a prediction of 3,000 that had been used on the page promoting the show to exhibitors. The show replaces the Insights partner conference and the separate Summit user conference that was not held last year. Having the shows the same week at the same site has many advantages.

4Q LIFTS SERENIC RESULTS

Serenic Corp., which markets the Navigator NFP accounting line, turned in a fourth-quarter that redeemed its performance for the year ended Feb. 28. The company earned $409,923 for the fourth quarter, compared to a loss of $154,260 a year earlier. (All figures in Canadian dollars). Revenue for the final period was $3.1 million, up 26.4 percent from $2.4 million for the prior year’s corresponding period. The company ended fiscal 2011 with $82,806 in net income, down 72.1 percent from $297,689 for fiscal 2010. Read more...

ONBOARDING SLOWS SAP CHANNEL

Kevin GilroyThe steps needed to get reselling prospects trained and ready to sell has turned into a bottle neck for SAP's recruitment of VARs for its web-based Business ByDesign. “We have had to slow down recruitment because our enablement was backing up,” says Kevin Gilroy, the North American SAP SVP who is running channel development. However, Gilroy says the company is ahead of schedule in its plan to get “one thousand feet on the street.”

ACUMATICA GETS MFNG LINK

AcumaticaJAAS Systems has integrated its manufacturing system to product JAMS Manufacturing for Acumatica. The system provides a common interface, integrated menus and shared database elements for the web-based system and was developed utilizing Acumatica’s software development kit and Microsoft Visual Studio. JAMS integrates with the Acumatica Financial, Distribution, and Customer Management Suites to serve make-to-stock, make-to-order, job-shop and repetitive manufacturing companies. JAMS is also compatible with Dynamics SL 7.0 and given Acumatica’s Solomon heritage that’s hardly surprising. Read more...

NETSUITE VARS MERGE

Montreal-based ERP Guru has merged with MD Technical Resources of Glenview, Ill.  Both companies are NetSuite resellers. (Note to press release writers: when companies merge, it’s useful to state what the name of the surviving organization and who is in charge. I assume it's the much-larger ERP Guru.) ERP Guru, which has been in the NetSuite program since 2005, says it employs 30 NetSuite software engineers/consultants. Read more...

HIGHTOWER HIRES SALES DIRECTOR

Nicholas RizzioHighTower, a Skokie, Ill.-based Sage reseller and developer has named Nick Rizzio to the job of sales director. Rizzio was most recently managing partner and director of sales at technology consulting company NJR where he worked from January 2005. In fact, most recently is recent enough that NJR is listed as his current employer on his LinkedIn page. The HighTower release called him “a consultative, high-level executive with a deep understanding of the technology needs of today's businesses.” Read more...

CDC ISSUES PIVOTAL MODULE

CDC Software has released Pivotal CRM Customer Service and Support, a module built on the Pivotal 6 platform.  The system features configurable service tickets that can support simple or complex service situations, as well as internal or external help desk requirements. Service tickets can be automatically created from multiple sources including email or social media. Read more...

COMPASS BUYS AFC

compass logoCompass Enterprise Solutions of Port Huron, Mich., has acquired Accounting for Computers of Utica, Mich., which handles Accpac, SageCRM, FAS, and MISys. Catherine Coleman Marks will continue as president of Compass with Tim Veach, VP responsible for project management and business development for both Compass locations. As VP, Sue Kinyon, former AFC partner, oversees the Michigan operations and provides consulting services to all clients. Compass previously sold Accpac and SageCRM.

Microsoft reseller BKD Technologies has opened a blog at www.dynamicsGPinsights.com. The site is designed to help users “navigate updates, changes and functional information for Dynamics GP." The site features articles, along with the ability to post comments or questions and to track updates via Twitter, LinkedIn or RSS feeds. GP Webinars are also available. Topics under discussion include Dynamics GP 2010 R2, Dynamics GP reports and user-defined functions.
