SAGE DEBUTS CRM CLOUD PRODUCTS

Sage North America has released two services for SalesLogix Cloud customers, Managing Cloud Servers and Staging Environments. Managed Cloud Servers enable customers to utilizes add-on, ISV and custom applications for the Internet-based products. Staging Environments lets companies test upgrades, customizations and new applications in a secure, parallel environment, and review and release functionality to user. Staging Environments is available through a SalesLogix Cloud subscription at $65 per named user per month at a rate of one day per month. Managed Cloud Servers are available at charges that vary with configurations.

SWENSON TO LEAVE SAGE

Sue SwensonThe French flavor at Sage is going to increase as chief executive Guy Berruyer, who took over in October, named a fellow countryman to take the job as CEO of Sage North America. Sometime in mid-2011, Pascal Houillon, currently CEO of Sage France, will replace Sue Swenson, who has held the job since March 2008. What’s very interesting is that Houillon will become a member of Sage’s executive committee.

MICROSOFT ROLLS OUT COMMUNITY 2.0

Dynamics logoMicrosoft has put together a new generation of its online community with Community 2.0. There doesn’t appear to have been a press release on this. But the site at http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/community has a new look and a spate of information that is designed to boost the value of the site in the eyes of the channel, including a blog post entitled, “Thinking of Microsoft as an ERP Company.” Read more...

SAGE NORTH AMERICA SALES SAG

sage logoWith the parent company showing a flat top line, but growth in profit margins, Sage North American turned in improving revenue for the year ended September 30. While North American sales were still down, dropping by 4 percent for the year to $857.8 million, there was a notable improvement in the second half. North America revenue fell by 4 percent with organic revenue down 3 percent from fiscal 2009. Read more...

SBS ACQUIRES OMNIOS

The SBS Group, a New Jersey-based Dynamics reseller, has acquired Omnios, a Chicago-based VAR as part of SBS's plan to take smaller Dynamics resellers under its wing as Microsoft's new channel program makes life extremely tough on small fry. Both companies carry Dynamics GP and SL although their historical strength was in SL. SBS also carries Sage's MAS 500 and Deltek Vision. Read more...

SUGARCRM FOR IPHONE DEBUTS

SugarCRM has introduced a native iPhone application as an enhancement to Sugar 6 CRM and which is bundled with the Sugar Enterprise edition. During an introductory period, the new application is free to users of the Sugar Professional edition. It can be downloaded from the Apple iTunes AppStore and can be customized via the SugarCRM Mobile Studio administration panel. Free trials of SugarCRM Professional can be launched from the iPhone versions.
