FISHBOWL OFFERS COMMISSIONS

Fishbowl, which markets Fishbowl Inventory for the QuickBooks arena, is offering a 10-percent commission to anyone who refers a lead that turns into a software sale. Once it gets a referral, Fishbowl takes over the process, described as including product demonstrations, providing information and closing the sale. All interested parties have to do is fill out a referral agreement “so that Fishbowl knows where to send the commission check” and then find a prospect to refer. Read more...

ROSS SETS PRODUCT PATH

Ross Systems has outlined a three-year plan for the delivery of the Ross ERP 7.0 product suite.  The company says phase one extends through 2012 and will include integration of the CDC Software Event Management Framework’s alert engine into the application. Key performance analytics will be embedded into the baseline workflow of Ross ERP that can handle decision making without the need for an external data warehouse. Also in this phase is the integration of SharePoint into the Ross Smart Client User interface level and into the application level enabling data to be access through portals.

NCOMPASS TOPS NETSUITE CHANNEL

Ncompass logoNcompass Business Solutions took home the award a Solution Provider of the Year, Worldwide at the NetSuite SuiteWorld conference. Ncompass has offices in Atlanta, Ga., and Charlotte, N.C. Bellevue, Wash.-based Explore Consulting took home the similar titled Solution Provider of the Year, Americas. The reseller winner in EMEA was First Hosted and in the APAC region it was JCurve Solutions. Celigo walked away with SuiteCloud Developer Network Partner of the Year honor and eBizNet Solutions was SuiteApp Partner of the Year.

MCGLADREY TO RESELL NETSUITE

NetSuiteMcGladrey is expected to be announced today as a new reseller for NetSuite.  The relationship is expected to be revealed during the keynote by NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson at this week's SuiteWorld conference in San Francisco. A source at the show confirmed the basic outline of the information that was posted by trade publication CRN. The cloud-based product will apparently be offered on a national basis following a reorganization in which Jonathan Caforio was named last month as national leader of technology services.

SAGE REORGS: CTO EXITS

Motasim NajeebSage North America has moved around some of the players in its management ranks as new CEO Pascal Houillon is quickly putting his mark on the organization. Notable in the departure list is Motasim Najeeb, the company's second chief technology officer who had announced a broad plan for developing the company's product strategy two years ago shortly after joining two years ago and had not been visible since. The company is seeking a replacement after Najeeb leaves this week.

HOUILLON PUSHING SAGE BRAND

Pascal HouillonExecs come and go but issues stay and for most companies and for Pascal Houillon, the new CEO of Sage North America, promoting the Sage brand remains crucial as he takes over his new role. SAGE REVS HERE UP 1 PERCENT

The Sage Group has reported that North American revenue hit $430.7 million for the half ended March 31, an organic increase of 1 percent over last year’s corresponding period. And while that’s not a hot growth track, it was an improvement. “We are very pleased to report our North American region is back to growth in the first half of this year,” Sage Group chief executive Guy Berruyer said in this week’s earnings webcast. The news was better for the accounting side since that organic growth was 4 percent excluding Sage HealthCare. Read more...

DELTEK BOOKINGS BOOM

DeltekWith a lot of Deltek’s new business shifting to subscriptions, the company shifted much of its emphasis in reporting bookings as a part of its metrics for its first quarter ended March 31. The project accounting company reported a loss of $6.6 million, compared to net income of $4.2 million in net income a year ago as acquisitions took a toll on the bottom line. Read more...

NETSUITE TAKES OVER PAYROLL BIZ

NetSuite has taken over more of the operations of the NetSuite Premier Payroll Service that had been handled by Perquest. As the NetSuite 10-Q for the March quarter put it, Perquest had been handling those “until it wound down its business operations.” That belatedly confirms reports about Perquest’s exit. Unfortunately, a few months ago, Perquest didn’t respond to responded to questions about the payroll company’s status, especially after a blog reported the business had been sold to ADP. BLACKBAUD CEO PAY MORE THAN DOUBLES

Marc ChardonMarc E. Chardon, Blackbaud’s CEO, had a good 2010 as his pay hit $4.55 million on a big option award for the year. Option awards of $2.77 million for the year just ended compared to $418,907 in that category in 2009 and propelled him well past the $2.04 million in total compensation that year. Read more...
