TRIBRIDGE CLEANS UP ON USER AWARDS

Tribridge, the Tampa, Fla.-based Dynamics reseller, has four users receiving awards at the upcoming Convergence conference in Atlanta out of 18 overall receiving honors for business achievement. The reseller also said it had five finalists in the awards process. Tribridge customers receiving customer excellence awards are as follows: CyraCom International, Dynamics Nav Innovation; Zeller Corp., Excellence in Financial Management; Gumdrop Books, Dynamics Nav Evangelism; and State of Illinois Department of Corrections, Extending Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

KLAUS VS. KLAUS ON EPICOR’S CHANNEL

George KlausEpicor’s public statements about its channel continue to be a source of puzzlement and amusement. On March 9, CEO George Klaus told attendees at the first annual Signal Hill Technology Conference in about as plain language as possible that “We have a direct sales organization, a direct go-to-market strategy. … All of our competitors who compete with us in this market …. All of those go to the market through a channel. … Customers who buy through the channel deal with multiple partners in different locations."

OPEN SYSTEM TURNS VAR INTO OFFICE

Open Systems has acquired a long-time reseller, Independent Computer Services, has turned that organization into a company office in Orange County, Calif. Tony Moliterno, president of ICS and executive business consultant for Open Systems, joins the Minneapolis-based software vendor. The last time Open Systems absorbed a reseller, it took on TBC International of Salado, Texas, in late 2009.

INTUIT TO RESELL SALESFORCE CRM

Intuit logoIt was a major announcement today – Intuit will resell Salesforce CRM, an application that will synchronize customer data with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.  But how much of the QuickBooks market recognizes the Salesforce name and is comfortable with the terms CRM and customer relationship management? INTACCT: NO COMPETING PRODUCTS FOR VARS

Last week’s statement that it would seem to be easier to carry multiple cloud products and that some VARs are already doing that brought an elaboration from Intacct’s channel VP Taylor Macdonald. Generally, Intacct is not signing those who sell or want to sell competing products. ”We have grandfathered a small number of firms (less than 5, principally BPO firms who became VAR’s) to be allowed to sell Intacct and a competing Cloud product (QB online doesn’t count),” Macdonald wrote in an email. EXACT PUMPS UP DIVIDEND

Exact logoDividend news generally isn’t something I’d cover. But since Exact hasn’t been the strongest company around, the fact that it has increased its dividend by so much is an interesting corporate choice. The company pushed the final dividend up by 63 percent from the amount it had originally announced. Read more...

Joe BergeraJoe Bergera, who has led the CRM efforts of Sage North America, as EVP and general manager, has moved to tax research powerhouse CCH where he is heading the company's new tax business unit. CCH said the new group, which will be the largest business unit, brings together tax resources such as  product development, product management, content, sales and market, and operations and support. ROSE BUYS CHICAGO DYNAMICS VAR

Linda RoseRose Business Solutions, a San Diego-based Dynamics GP and CRM reseller, has moved into the Chicago market with the purchase of TTD Enterprises which has specialized in serving distribution and supply chain customers. Linda Rose, owner of the California operation, said that the Chicago presence would help the company expand the hosting services of sister companies RoseASP and myGPcloud.

EASIER TO CARRY MULTIPLE SAAS LINES?

There seems to be a trend for dealers to carry multiple SaaS lines, not that there’s a tremendous range of products to choose from. But there are a noticeable number of good resellers who aren't being faithful to one cloud vendor. Among these are Serrera which carries NetSuite, Intacct and SAP Business ByDesign and Fargo, N.D.-based CPA firm Eide Bailly which handles NetSuite, Intacct and QuickBooks Online, while Baker Tilly Virchow Krause is offering NetSuite and Plex Online. SAGE EXEC PAY UP DOUBLE DIGITS

Paul WalkerThe five top executives of the Sage Group did quite well in pay for the year ended September 30 as increases in compensation ranged from 27 percent to 46 percent.  In his final year as chief executive, Paul Walker received about $2.56 million, a 37.2-percent rise while Guy Berruyer, who took over that job in the current fiscal year, earned roughly $2.25 million, a 41-percent increase in his prior role as CEO of Sage France.
