DELTEK EASES SOME STOCK RESTRICTIONS

Deltek and New Mountain Funds, which helped recapitalize the company and take it public in 2007, have agreed to waive restrictions on the sale of stock held by a trust owned by Donald deLaski, one of the company's cofounders. Under the agreement, restrictions were lifted on the sale or transfer of 500,000 shares of Deltek common stock held by the deLaski trust.

RADIANT'S NET JUMPS AS SALES SLIDE

Radiant Systems, a POS specialist, reported that net income more than doubled while its revenue dropped 14 percent for the third quarter ended September 30. The company, whose products include the CounterPoint POS application, reported earnings of $3.4 million, a jump from $1.6 million for last year's corresponding period.

Acclivity, which markets the MYOB product portfolio in the United States and Canada, announced its top partners at the company's 14th annual conference, held in Morristown, N.J.  last month. The company named JoAnn Ortiz of Hollywood, Calif.-based Fly Dragon Consulting as 2009 Partner of the Year.

EPARTNERS EPARTNERS WITH NAVISITE

It was the first ePartners press release since July and the first in a year that didn't announce an award or designation given to the firm.

MICROSOFT PROMOTES CRM ONLINE


With what was described as its third service update in 18 months, Dynamics CRM Online got a big push this week in terms of features and promotion. Microsoft added free mobile access, enhanced data support and customizable views. It also offers customers switching from Salesforce.com or Oracle CRM On Demand use of the Dynamics product for free for six months. But wait, there's more.

EXACT GIVES UP ON SAAS UNIT

Exact Group, whose Exact Software operations market the Macola and Progression ERP packages, has decided that whatever the merits of Software as a Service, owning a company that produces Web-based applications wasn't a good idea. The unit, AllSolutons, which is also based in the Netherlands, sells a SaaS product called WebSolutions QX.

NETSUITE RESULTS DECENT CONSIDERING ECONOMY

NetSuite saw 24.5 percent increase in its loss on a 3.2 percent increase in revenue for the third quarter ended September 30. And while those results are decent, considering the economy, I'm not sure the company moved toward the tipping point for adoption of SaaS. The loss was just over $8 million, compared to $6.2 million for last year's corresponding period.

NETSUITE EYES MORE CHANNEL PROGRAMS

NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson didn't sound too optimistic that reseller revenue will improve significantly as a percentage of his company's income. But during yesterday's earnings Webcast, he told analysts the company is looking at new channel programs for 2010. Part of that was couched as a tactic for avoiding the expense of ramping up hiring.
