EDGEWATER EDGES DOWN IN LAST YEAR

Jeff Rutherford, Edgewater TechnologyEdgewater Technology saw its loss balloon and revenue drop in its last full year as a company. The company will become part of Alithya when a merger is expected to be completed in the third quarter. Edgewater lost $29.1 million for the year ended December 31, compared to $2.8 million in red ink for 2016.

COLUMBUS: GOING GLOBAL WITH M3

Thomas Honoré, Columbus Columbus said this week it plans to utilize its January acquisition of Swedish iStone to take the Infor M3 (Lawson) product line global. The initiative is a major change for Columbus which had concentrated on the Dynamics line and its internally developed Columbus Software.

QLIK HIRES GLOBAL SALES EVP

Chris Jones, Qlik Analytical software vendor Qlik has hired Chris Jones as EVP of worldwide sales. Jones, who had a 10-year tenure at Cisco Systems, was most recently chief partner officer for Infoblox in 2017 and 2018 where he led the global partner strategy and organization.

Mike Bernard, VertexMicrosoft veteran Mike Bernard has been named chief tax officer at Vertex. He will take over the job from Peggi Rockefeller, who is retiring after working with the company since 2012.

Paul Raymond, AlithyaGiven the turmoil of the last year, Edgewater Technology is not surprisingly being taken over. The company will disappear into the Alithya, which will have more than $200 million in revenue. Alithya is a company built on both organic growth and acquisition so more deals are likely.

SAAS GROWS IN ALL INFOR REGIONS

Charles Phillips, InforSaaS subscriptions propelled revenue growth for Infor’s third quarter ended January 31. That growth was held down as perpetual licenses dipped as the transition to the cloud proceeded. Meanwhile, the company’s bottom line took a big hit from currency losses.

Gordon Stuart, Unit4 Unit4 has picked Gordon Stuart as CFO, effective next month. He succeeds Yann Lea, who joined the company in that road in 2016. Leca will continue as a senior advisor to the CEO and board of directors.
