CHERCHEZ LE SAGE X3

The Houston-based Rand Group has become the latest (well that I know of) reseller to sign up for Sage X3. This was announced on July 30, but press releases from resellers sometimes don't come my way. Still, it's interesting because Rand started as a pure Microsoft shop, took on Timberline from the debris field left by the MIS Group in September 2009 and now makes this addition of what's viewed as among the most promising Sage products.

I do however suggest that those seeking to buy X3 at this point could use a little help. When visiting the Sage North America website, you click on Sage ERP X3, there’s a link that says "How to Buy." Then click Sage X3 again and this very helpful page comes up proclaiming, "Logiciels de gestion Sage pour les moyennes et grandes enterprises." Having learned in my very limited French that logiciels means software, we can all get the drift. Then there's that very penetrating question, "Quelle solution de gestion recherchez-vous?" Haven't we all at one time asked ourselves this? Well, the new CEO is going to be from France, so I guess we'll just have to get used to it. Receptions at Summit (the reseller/user conference) will feature escargot, foix gras, the famed frog a le peche and for the truly sophisticated, fresh ortolan and an ample supply of large napkins. FYI, the Rand signing brings the North American reseller count to 12. Besides Rand, the others are BKD, Baass, Blytheco, CA Plus, Emerald TC, Net@Work, NexTec, Software Link, SWK Technologies, Tangerine Software and The Answer Company.
