MACOLA, JOBBOSS, MAX SPUN OFF

 Ron Books, ECi Software Solutions The Exact Group is spinning off its manufacturing software operations in the United States. Macola, JobBoss and Max will end up under the ownership of ECi Software Solutions of Fort Worth, Texas. Terms were not disclosed. Exact, based in the Netherlands, will continue to sell its Globe, Synergy and Exact Online software in this country.

SMB AWARDS? WHAT SMB AWARDS?

MicrosoftLast week's newsletter noted my attempt to round up all of the award winners in six Dynamics SMB categories. The logical place to start seemed to be with Waggener Edstrom, Microsoft's long-time public relations agency. The WagEd response was Microsoft does not make awards in the SMB category.

RECKON PROFITS DROP ON SPIN OFF

Clive Rabie, ReckonReckon, which makes low-cost software that competes with QuickBooks Online, saw profit drop by 11.2 percent on virtually unchanged revenue from continuing operations for the first half ended June 30. The Australian software company's revenue line excludes its document management operations, which were divested on July 31.
