Alan Bryant, who headed Sage ISV The Macabe Associates for many years, has died. Peyton Burch, Intacct's senior director of channel sales, was part of the Sage channel for many years. He described Bryant's death this week as a "Devastating loss of one of the truly great people in our industry."

In its second proxy fight in a year, Edgewater Technology has urged shareholders reject a slate of candidates for its board of directors. The slate was nominated by Ancora Catalyst Funds, which holds 9.5-percent of the reseller's common stock.

Managed services provider DSM Computing Services, based in Toronto, Ontario, has been acquired Apogee IT Services, another MSP headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa. Terms were not disclosed. DSM was founded in January 1998 by CEO Sheldon Waters.
