Scientists believe that modern humans met and interbred with Neanderthals around the area of modern Israel. I can imagine the parents' reaction when a Homo Sapiens girl brought home her new boyfriend. "I don't know what you see in him. He's such a Neanderthal. ... Speaking of that older species, my genetic test done by 23andMe shows I have more Neanderthal ancestry than the average person. "From the way you leave you clothing lying around, I'm not surprised," my wife commented on first learning the news.
ADAPTIVE SNARES $75 MILLION

Adaptive Insights, which makes analytic and corporate performance management applications, recently closed a $75 million round of funding. JMI Equity joined a group of six investor groups that plunked down money for the cloud software company. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Adaptive listed accelerating "product road map innovation and global expansion" and the general use for the funds.
BLYTHECO PICKS UP ACT-ON

Blytheco has signed on to the Act-On Consulting Partner Program. The Laguna Hills, Calif.-based reseller said it will offer Act-On's marketing automation software to its CRM customers. Act-On's website shows it has connectors to the following CRM packages: Dynamics, Infor (I'm assuming the old SalesLogix), NetSuite, SalesForce and Sugar. Hmm, are there any notable vendor names missing here? Apryl Hanson, Blytheco's director of customer and partner strategy, explained the decision to take on the cloud-based software this way:
