SAP says its Business One application now has more than 60,000 customers. The German software company said recently the SMB financial suite also has more than 1 million users.

Crowe Horwath (to be renamed Crowe next week) has promoted Justin Bass, previously head data scientist, to become the accounting firm's first chief data science officer. The Chicago-based organized says the new data science business unit has more than 20 data scientists.

Australia software vendor MYOB Croup has terminated its planned purchased of the Accountant Practice Management operations of Reckon. With regulatory approval lagging in Australia and New Zealand, MYOB exercised its right to cancel the deal on May 31 after the passing of six months to satisfy conditions of the sale.
