Rootstock, which markets specialized ERP software, has hired Tom Ward as SVP of sales. The move follows a series of executive hires this year and is a homecoming for Ward who was regional VP of sales for Rootstock from August 2014 through December 2015.

Avalara has named Danny Fields as EVP of engineering and chief technology officer. Fields fills the vacancy left by the departure of Peter Harodan in January. He was most recently SVP of engineering and chief software development officer at MobileIron from February 2016 until taking the new job.

Xexo is continuing its expansion in the English-speaking world, moving into Canada and naming its first South Africa country manager. The New Zealand-based cloud software company officially moved north of the border in May with roadshows in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.
