Microsoft veteran Mike Bernard has been named chief tax officer at Vertex. He will take over the job from Peggi Rockefeller, who is retiring after working with the company since 2012.

Given the turmoil of the last year, Edgewater Technology is not surprisingly being taken over. The company will disappear into the Alithya, which will have more than $200 million in revenue. Alithya is a company built on both organic growth and acquisition so more deals are likely.

SaaS subscriptions propelled revenue growth for Infor’s third quarter ended January 31. That growth was held down as perpetual licenses dipped as the transition to the cloud proceeded. Meanwhile, the company’s bottom line took a big hit from currency losses.
