BIZ CENTRAL CLEARS UP CONFUSION? Featured

Greg Kaupp, ArcherPointThe launch of Dynamics Business Central is drawing reseller enthusiasm. But the response seems to be as much about clearing up confusion in the Microsoft product naming system as anything about features.

B.C. is Dynamics NAV with the new name coming with the introduction of a. cloud version. 'We are getting a unique brand with a clearer message from Microsoft to go head to head with NetSuite,” says Greg Kaupp, CEO of Atlanta, Ga.-based Dynamics reseller ArcherPoint. If nothing else, Microsoft is clearing up the confusion it brought the market when it applied the Dynamics 365 name to both its AX and NAV products. Kaupp notes the only differentiation in names was Microsoft called the offerings the Enterprise and Business editions “which was extremely confusing”. What is also happening is Microsoft’s development of a platform approach with this part of the Dynamics line connecting to Dynamics 365 and Office 365 with development occurring on the common data model.
