NADELLA EARNS $42.9 MILLION Featured

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella received a 66-percent hike in compensation for the year ended June 30. His compensation was boosted in three major areas, giving him $42.9 million for fiscal 2019, up from $25.8 million in 2018.

The company more than doubled his salary to $2.3 million from $1.5 million. Nadella received $29.7 million in stock awards in the most recently ended year, an increase of 76.6 percent from $16.8 million. His option awards rose to $10.8 million, a 45.4-percent boost from 2018’s $7.4. million. Other named executives also were given significant increases. CFO Amy Hood received $20.2 million for fiscal 2019, rising 35.5 percent from  $14.9 million the prior year. EVP Jean-Philippe Courtois, president of global sales, marketing and operations, was granted $15.1 million in compensation, rising 35.5 percent from $11.1 million. Compensation for 2019 for Margaret Johnson, EVP of business development, was $10.4 million, an increase of 19.1 percent from $8.8 million. Finally, president and chief legal officer Brad Smith was given $17.4 million, an increase of 28.6 percent from $13.5 million.
