SIKICH PICKS UP AX VAR

Al Galinot, Streamline SystemsCPA firm Sikich has acquired Streamline Systems, a Dynamics AX VAR with about $5 million in revenue. Terms were not disclosed. The deal was accomplished as a merger and broadens the Sikich product line to include all four Dynamics financial applications. Steamline, based in Denver, Colo., has an AMR Advanced Industry Certification for Discrete Manufacturing which will amplify the firm's manufacturing practice.

Al Galinot, a senior partner who was Streamline's VP of professional services, was named managing partner of the Sikich Dynamics AX practice. A co-founder of Streamline, Galinot was previously VP of professional services at Microsoft. The suggestion in this newsletter in the last two weeks was that we are likely to see a wave of large VARs buying businesses of significant size. That followed the December purchase of ePartners by Tribridge and this month's purchase of First Tech Direct by Copenhagen-based Columbus. The addition of Steamline would be a good pop to the $22 million in revenue for the firm's technology operations last year.
