STRATEGIES GROUP TAKES ON D+C Featured

Randy Collins, Strategies GroupLong-time construction reseller, the Strategies Group, has taken on the Dexter+Cheney construction software line. To pave the way for the move, it sold its Sage business to United Solutions and transferred the staff from the practice to United. "We will be exclusively focusing on the Dexter + Chaney product line moving forward," says Randy Collins, who has been president of Atlanta, Ga.-based Strategies Group since 1999. The VAR had sold the Sage construction software line for more than 20 years.

It is an interesting move since Collins' organization acquired the Sage 300 CRE and Sage 100 clients of Coast Software on April 1 and a few days later, Coast announced its move to selling D+C' Spectrum Construction Software. D+C has been busy. It named Eric Newton as SVP of sales and marketing, on September 29, and Brian Rice as CFO on August 20. Rice replaced John Ulacia, who retired after 20 years with the Strategies Group, which is selling Spectrum in Georgia, South Carolina, northern Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama and Louisiana.
