ALERE V12 PREVIEWED Featured

Rod Hatcher, TIW TechnologyTIW Technology. has issued a preview of Alere Business Applications v.12. In its newsletter, the software company also noted it is hiking the price of renewing expired maintenance agreements. Alere v11 launched in March and the newsletter did not give a date for the new edition.

Among what were called the more notable additions is a built-in credit card processing gateway with Alere utilizing the Authorize.net gateway by default. Users can still chose their own merchant accounts. There will also be 64-bit Office support, along with an option to control the launch of Excel. The InTouch Module interface is receiving streamlined look, condensing email chains to a blog style interface. Controls that handle the interface with Outlook have been rewritten to increase speed, while Intouch will also enable markup allowing graphics and general dress-up of content to be passed through to emails. The Commission module has been overhauled to add more options to the manner by which commissions are calculated and distributed, including allowing the combination of rules and split commissions. On the maintenance side, President Rod Hatcher urged users to renew—and with good reason. On November 1, the price to renew expired Software Maintenance Agreements shoots up. Those expired for up to one year jump to $750 per module from $500; from one year to less than two years, $1,000 per module, and for two or more years lapsed the price hits $1,250 per module.
