AVALARA NAMES THREE NEW LEADERS Featured

Amit Mathradas, Avalara Avalara has added three new executives and moved two other EVPs to new roles. The new roles and changed titles for two other executives reflect the company’s increased emphasis on operating globally.

The sales and use-tax company has named Amit Mathradas as president and COO, Sanjay Parthasarathy as chief product officer, and Ross Tennenbaum as EVP strategic initiatives. The company also moved long-time EVPs Pascal Van Dooren and Marshal Kushniruk to new positions. Mathradas was GM and head of SMB/merchant for North America for PayPal, which he joined in November 2014. Parthasarathy was CEO of Indix, which he founded in January 2012. Earlier this month, Avalara acquired artificial intelligence technology from Indix that it said will enable it to better maintain and expand its tax content database. Tennenbaum was manager director of investment banking for Goldman Sachs, where he worked from September 2014. Van Dooren, who has been in the company since October 2011, has held the position of chief revenue officer since June 2014. Kushniruk is becoming EVP of corporate development after serving as EVP of global business development since January 2013. He joined Avalara in 2004. Although Avalara said the three new executives were in newly created jobs, the company has had a president and COO, Kevin Riegelsberger, who held the positions briefly, before retiring. He later returned in a short-term role, chief strategy initiatives officer.
