INFOR HOLDS WAKE FOR FSE

Dennis Michalis, InforDuring a conference call this week, Infor said it is whole heartedly behind the Fourth Shift Edition that it acquired with the purchase of Softbrands. It's just that no new sales can be made; only sales services offered to the installed based, which can add modules and seats.

 

To the concerned resellers who were on the conference call with  Dennis Michalis, Infor's SVP of strategic planning and alliances, it was a bit like saying, "The deceased looks great in that new suit, but don't worry, we're going to let you dry clean and mend it. And if that tie wears out, it's still covered by warranty."  The tone of the resellers who asked questions during the call pretty much had a resigned sound. FSE is the manufacturing package for SAP's Business One software. Asked if Infor had considered selling FSE, Michalis said the company had received inquiries, but no "legitimate offers." He told listeners that Infor had picked up most of the FourthShift staff. "From a professional services perspective, it means we are fully staffing engagements to be sure they are delivered on time," he said. "We are going to very much keep this product alive. This is not a product is dead statement. Infor does not kill products." One reseller, who passed on the call, said he was looking for a replacement package.
