SAGE SUMMIT TO BE LIGHT?

ElephantWell, why wouldn’t it be given the economy? And as we move into the homestretch for recruiting sponsors and attendees for the user conference to be held November 9-12 in Atlanta, a couple of resellers I talked to said it was going to be a hard sell to get their clients to come.

On the exhibitor front, there are 73, including three Sage booths, and that’s probably not too bad considering. One of the most interesting developments is the appearance of healthcare sponsors in the first year healthcare users have been invited. Gold sponsor, Alpha II, is from the healthcare, not the ERP business. Scantron/Docuscan Patient Encounter is one of three conference bag sponsors, along with HighTower and DataSelf Business Intelligence Fujitsu Computer Products is the healthcare reception sponsor. But since healthcare is a more vibrant market than accounting software right now … On the silver sponsorship list are Industrios and the Timberline Users Group with SAP Business Objects as Bronze. Sales-and-user tax vendor Avalara, which spent a lot of money on sponsorships last year, is a mere exhibitor at the moment. Citrix Online is supporting the badge holders and inserts with its money. Martin and Associates is the conference guide sponsor.
