INFOR INTEGRATES SAP APPS
Infor, which is trying to attract third parties through an integration platform, is delivering its ION connector for use with SAP applications. The company said it plans additional integrations with other companies’ applications, including multiple Oracle products. The Infor10 ION connector can also be utilized to develop integration with custom applications.
Infor’s message sounds much like SAP’s in that the strategy is built around the idea that its products are going to exist in a heterogeneous computing environment, so don’t fight it, enable it, as opposed to vendors trying to sell a stack of products. The Connector for SAP will be available for Infor10’s PLM Process (Optiva), EAM Enterprise and Supply Chain Execution. Connectivity to Supply Chain Planning is expected to become available in the first quarter of next year with additional Infor apps to follow.
