COLUMBUS PUTS IT IN PRIVATE CLOUD

Erik Ødemark, ColumbusGlobal Dynamics reseller Columbus has put its internal IT datacenter in a private cloud. The Copenhagen, Denmark-based VAR and software developer said that move has "improved our ability to service our customers better and faster than ever before. In a prepared statement, Erik Ødemark, corporate IT manager, said "This is an enormous advantage, when changes occur in the integration with customers and partners, and Columbus' consultants have to react very quickly to new decisions."
The cloud is being used to provide access to its software, including RapidValue, which the company said will be available in the private cloud, although it did not say when. Demos will also be accessed through the cloud. Ødemark also said the company believes the future lies in the hybrid cloud. Columbus says its datacenter is house at GlobalConnect.
