UNIT4 TO DOUBLE AGRESSO R&D Featured

José Duarte, Unit4Unit4 plans to double the R&D resources for its Agresso financial line over the next two years. The now privately held company did not issue any figures, but effort will remain centered in Norway, although there will be additional capacity in Wroclaw, Poland, and Granada, Spain, more than 150 developers are employed. “Poland and Spain offer scalable, high-quality talent pools that will allow us to build on existing, proven development operations,” CEO José Duarte said in a prepared statement.

There will also be work to pump more effort into industries such as education, professional services, not for profit, wholesale, accountancy and public services. Unit4 said that SAAS revenue was 40-percent higher than license revenue during the first half of 2014. The increased R&D effort is designed to spurt innovation for social, mobile, analytics and cloud capabilities. There has been no statement about the company’s Coda Financials line. Unit4 was purchased by the private equity group, Advent International in March. Since then, it has been restocking the executive population. Earlier this month, it named Ray Leclercq as CFO. Daan Snijders has been hired as EVP and CTO effective September 1. Leclercq was previously managing director of European operations at private equity firm The Gores Group. Snijders worked at Infor as SVP of development, where he started in June 2006.
