Australia software vendor MYOB Croup has terminated its planned purchased of the Accountant Practice Management operations of Reckon. With regulatory approval lagging in Australia and New Zealand, MYOB exercised its right to cancel the deal on May 31 after the passing of six months to satisfy conditions of the sale.

Rootstock, which markets specialized ERP software, has hired Tom Ward as SVP of sales. The move follows a series of executive hires this year and is a homecoming for Ward who was regional VP of sales for Rootstock from August 2014 through December 2015.

Avalara has named Danny Fields as EVP of engineering and chief technology officer. Fields fills the vacancy left by the departure of Peter Harodan in January. He was most recently SVP of engineering and chief software development officer at MobileIron from February 2016 until taking the new job.

Shea Solutions has acquired 30-year-old TGO Consulting. Toronto, Ont.-based TGO sells Dynamics AX, GP and 365. Terms were not disclosed. Based in Mississauga, Ont., Shea, a global systems integrator which carries Dynamics AX and Syspro, has been expanding globally in the Dynamics market.
